BIOGRAPHY English - in short so you get the idea
The band was founded in 1993 by Johan Visschers (vocals, guitar, songwriter) and he was joined by his brother Henk (bass) and Peter Kahmann (drums) in 1996.
Since then the band played a lot of venues in the Netherlands, England, Germany, Belgium and France of all sorts, driven by their DIY standards.
Cradle FC brings their post punk/alt rock music with pure energy and emotion, straight from the core. Always avoiding the routine, always on the look out for some improv during the set. Keeping it real.
Throughout the years the band line up changed every now and then, but in the end the three 1996 members are in it for the long run.
BIOGRAFIE (NL)
Sinds 1993 is Cradle FC (tot 2007 Cradle) te vinden op zeer uiteenlopende podia in binnen- en buitenland. Beïnvloed door bands als Joy Division, Swans en Velvet Underground baant de band zich een even veelzijdige als grillige weg door de muziekwereld.
Cradle FC won een aantal low profile-bandwedstrijden en was als voorprogramma te zien van onder andere 16 Horsepower (US), Calvin Party (UK), Avacate (UK), KIN (UK), Mr. Heart (UK), Umphf (UK), Bobbie Peru (UK/US), Feeding Fingers (US), Johan (NL) en Suburbs (NL).
Talloze Nederlandse en Engelse radiostations lieten CFC horen of werden bezocht voor live-sessies en interviews. Met een sterke voorkeur voor het live geluid, nam CFC diverse demo's en live bootlegs op. Bijna alles is uitgebracht via e t f records, maar ook het onafhankelijke Engelse (en inmiddels opgeheven) label Inner City Grit Records bracht muziek van Cradle FC uit.
Door de jaren heen varieert de bandbezetting regelmatig om uiteindelijk weer terug te komen bij de drie bandleden die in 1996 aan de wieg stonden van het zo kenmerkende rauwe en energiek geluid van de band. Het gevolg is dat er na een periode van relatieve stilte, waarbij er op z'n tijd nog een enkel optreden wordt gedaan, eind 2021 wordt besloten dat het de hoogste tijd is om weer meer van de band te laten horen. Er is nu zelfs sprake van een tour in 2022. Of het lukt? De wil is er, nu de hobbelige weg nog.
